Gender and Youth Manager for FTF PREMIER

TechnoServe is recruiting a Gender and Youth Manager for FTF PREMIER, to be based in Nampula, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Assure that the FTF Premier targets of the inclusion of 40% women and 50% youth are respected and observed by the FTF Premier team
  • Be responsible for and manage the development and implementation of the the woman and Youth Strategic Objective 4 of the FTF Premier annual work plan
  • Promote FTF Premier’s grants facilities and identify and encourage eligible women and youth led organizations to participate in the grants application process
  • Serve as the account manager of FTF Premier’s beneficiary women and youth led businesses and organizations that successfully applied for grants
  • Manage the partnership with the WIN project
  • Advice and support FTF Premier’s technical director and portfolio managers with the integration of women and youth specific activities in the project work plan, the grants implementation plans and the organizational
  • Capacity Building Plans
  • Identity and communicate the business case for the inclusion of women and youth to agribusiness clients and partners
  • Manage the capacity building component for 300 female and young entrepreneurs, including soft skills/life skills
  • Manage the support to agri-business companies to deliver inclusive and equitable opportunities for women and young people
  • Strengthen 5 women agribusiness associations
  • Manage FTF Premier’s training-of-trainer approach for women and youth led enterprises, including reviewing existing and introducing new Life Skills curricula for Higher and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutes (TVETs)
  • Develop weekly highlights and annual success stories to showcase the success of the FTF Premier women and youth inclusion strategy
  • Support graduate students to launch “business-in-a-box” agri-SGBs linking women and young people to medium and large agribusiness clients that want to expand their inclusive supply schemes
  • Develop and promote women and youth inclusive management practices. This includes coaching current women and youth employees to take leadership roles and develop the technical skills needed for advancement
  • Initiate and manage the relationships with female and youth led Business Development Service providers
  • Manage the FTF Premier internship and young professional programs
  • Support the Access to Finance Portfolio manager to manage the relationships with financial institutions that focus on financing and financial services of women- and youth-owned businesses
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s Degree, either Business, Economics, Agriculture, Finance or equivalent, including 7 years of experience or a Master’s degree, either Business, Economics, Agriculture, Finance or equivalent, including 5 years of experience in agronomy, rural development, agribusiness or other relevant field
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting gender analysis, delivering gender training and developing gender policy in programs in Mozambique and outside
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues around women’s economic empowerment
  • Able to be thoughtful and practical on ways to engage and empower women and youth
  • Proven results achievement with the empowerment and integration of women and youth in agricultural value chain and agri-businesses
  • Experience facilitating change through participatory and inclusive learning and reflection, especially in rural and cross-cultural environments
  • Strong private sector market orientation, entrepreneurial and innovative thinker
  • Result orientation, including strong organizational, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other administrative applications
  • Communicative and open to exchange and learning
  • Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English
