- Program Description: The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherland (EKN), Maputo through its Strengthening Food Systems and Food and Nutrition Security in Beira Corridor program (Manguana) has given funding to Technoserve Mozambique for a regional food and nutrition security program for the period of 2023-2027. Agriculture is a critical pillar of the Mozambican economy, employing over 80% of the rural population and contributing to 25% of the national GDP. Small and medium farms account for 95% of agricultural production. Nonetheless, productivity is low for the majority of food crops. The project will complement other investments and coordinate with other programs in this sector to address productivity barriers in the Beira Corridor to improve FNS by increasing productivity, incomes, and jobs

- Job Summary: TechnoServe seeks a Grants Analyst for an anticipated food and nutrition security (FNS) program in the Beira Corridor. The Grants Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Grants Manager in management of all grants sub awards
Duties
- Provide direct capacity building support to partners/grantees, particularly in organizational management and administration
- Ensure compliance with grants requirement
- Provide Grants support to ensure smooth grant negotiation, implementation, monitoring, and close-out
- Assisting the Grant Manager and Portfolio Managers with organizing the grant program outreach
- Assisting the Grant Manager and Portfolio Managers with the application cycle, including the timely processing of applications
- Participating in the selection and vetting process, including reviewing application requirements and ensuring that the appropriate due diligence has been conducted and recorded ahead of the submission to the Selection Committee, Track and follow up with partners to ensure that all partner reports are submitted within agreed milestones and timelines
- Support fund disbursement to partners, collecting necessary evidence and information from partners and working with TechnoServe finance team
- Liaise with TechnoServe regional and headquarters staff on all matters related to agreements, contracts and MOUs
- Coordinating the award and disbursement process, including ensuring compliance with the technical requirements of the Grants Manual
- Ensuring that each grant is properly documented in the fund’s database in a timely fashion
- Performing monitoring and follow up functions in coordination with grants manager, MEL team and portfolio managers; and
- Monthly check the grants implementation progress, and report progress to the grants manager
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requisites
- Basic Qualifications:
- Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, law or a related field, plus at least three years of experience in a commercial or international project setting or a master’s degree with one-year experience
- Knowledge of donor contracts and grant regulations would be beneficial
- S/he should have strong attention to detail and, with minimal supervision, be able to prioritize and manage a high volume work flow
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and relevant computer software skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Experience with database management systems desirable
- Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English are required
- The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to personal integrity
- Prefer candidates of Mozambican nationality
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other administrative applications
- Knowledge of compilation and interpretation of financial statements is essential
- Communicative and open to exchange and learning
