Aldelia is recruiting a Head of Finance (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Developing the strategy of the department
- Managing the financial reporting process to enable the production of statutory financial statements complying with relevant professional, statutory and regulatory standards
- Manage the administration system reconciliation to general ledgers
- Manage relationship with external auditors including fee negotiations, the scope of work, audit findings, audit process
- Responsible for (develop/determine and implement) line of business system accounting specification and design of financial architectures
- Design of financial accounting controls and processes
- Manage product level accounting process as input into actuarial valuations
- Produce and evaluate financial business cases supporting new initiatives
- Measure ROI on new initiatives and monitor adherence to business cases
- Give input in setting up of business KPI’s and monitor performance in relation to these
- Take ownership of the entire International budget process which includes
- Manage product cost allocation process as input into actuarial valuations
- Analyze appropriateness of cost base and recommend an implement actions to address issues
- Negotiate fees with other MMI Group companies, including policy administration, actuarial valuation services and brand costs
- Direct Cash flow management
- Provide financial insight and analysis to International executives
- Responsible for production of monthly International Operations report to International Executives as well as Group FD
- Responsible for production of quarterly report to audit and risk panel
- Responsible for drafting annual International Operational Plan (budget document)
Requisites
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA)
- 5 – 8 years working experience in financial services, preferably health insurance
- 3 – 4 years experience in functioning within a multi-disciplinary executive team
- 2 years of experience in management in leading the performance of a team
- Competent in Microsoft Office and willingness/ability to adapt to changing tools
