PRI is recruiting a Head of HR, to be based in Maputo.

Duties
  • Provide overall HR support and leadership
  • To develop, align the HR strategy to the Group strategy and implement the execution plans
  • Align the Group HR policies and procedures to the target countries regulations and laws
  • Review and implement end to end HR processes to ensure best in class and eliminate waste and duplication of efforts
  • In conjunction with the Group and Learning Manager identify the competency gaps and develop training and development interventions to bridge the gaps for the target countries. On a continuous basis evaluate the effectiveness of training and development. In addition ensure that the target countries have adequate budget to support training and development and in creating a learning organization culture. Ensure all employees in the target countries have in place Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and they are followed through
  • In conjunction with the Group Talent Manager, ensure that the target countries have adequate talent pool to run the business now and in the future. To ensure that the budget is in place to support talent management process that include talent identification, succession plans, career guides, cross border moves and plans for bridging the talent gaps
  • Implement a performance management system that aligns individual KPAs/KPIs to the target countries KPAs/KPIs. Ensure that line managers have the desired competencies to drive performance management
  • Administration of Group Reward and recognition process and ensuring availability of current market data for supporting reward and recognition. Ensure efficient payroll management and regular analysis
  • Ensure that year end performance management process is implemented across the Group and countries are guided accordingly
  • Develop and manage Union management process and strategy in all union affected countries, including negotiations
  • Develop and execute employee relations strategy to drive employee engagement
  • To ensure that the target countries organization structures are aligned to the business strategies and all roles have job descriptions and they have been evaluated
  • Ensure that HR matrices are developed and reviewed on a regular basis to measure the business performance. This will include Head Count Analysis, Attrition, and Training etc
  • Ensure that all HR risks are identified and plans are in place to mitigate the risks
  • Ensure Group initiatives like Q12 survey are in place and understood by staff. Deliver the follow through on the output from the survey and other initiatives
  • Monitoring and tracking the key HR trends and their impacts to the business
  • Building strong relationship and interactions with key stakeholders and regulators like Immigration department
Requisites
  • University Graduate from a recognized and well established University
  • A minimum of 5 years management experience in Human Resources
  • Experience of management development and skills training
  • Experience of conducting training needs assessments and delivering a variety of training solutions
  • Advanced analytical skills, with an ability to research and synthesize HR information and broad ranges of Group and Countries Strategies
  • Full understanding of country labour laws and regulations as well as Union management
  • Deep understanding of the role of Human Capital in delivering business goals and objectives
  • Proven team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build relationships with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent leadership and Organizational skills
  • Highly computer literate in excel, word, power point etc
  • Ability to support the target countries teams in raising staff engagement
  • Ability to develop job descriptions and implement Hay job grading structure
  • Administration of end to end performance management process

  • Job holder should seek to develop strong relationships with those performing a similar role at peer group businesses/banks and to join any appropriate industry forums that will enhance job performance and understanding
  • Arising from the above, job holder will need to be willing and be able to speak on the topic of Human Capital Management at conferences and the like which will enhance both personal and the Group reputation
  • Multi-cultural awareness and the ability to interact with a wide range of differing levels and sectors of staff, society, social and business, is an essential characteristic of the person holding this position
