Wassha Mozambique is recruiting a HR & Legal Leader, to be based in Nampula, Mozambique.
Duties
- The HR and Legal Leader is responsible for executing HR and legal tasks in line with company goal and objectives. This includes but is not limited to ensuring :
- The safety of the working environment (psychological and physically) for the company’s employees
- HR strategy (policy creation and follow up)
- Compliance and implementation of applicable laws and policies/guidelines of the company
Safety of the working environment
- Ensure that office facilities (e.g. furniture / supplies etc.) are efficiently utilized and that purchases are made in a well-planned manner so as to avoid stock- outs.
- If required advise management on health and safety measures to be implemented and following through until implementation
- Ensuring the office environment is well maintained, for example ensuring high levels of hygiene are maintained
- Ensure office Internet are fully functional and contact the service providers or internal parties in a timely manner in case of actions required
- Closely monitor utilities to ensure payments are raised and paid on time, as well as plan resources
- Notify the entire WASSHA family on upcoming public holidays to aid proper planning
HR Strategy
- Drafting the HR policies and strategies in line with local regulations reflecting our operations, obtaining supervisor approval, and ensuring that it is always up to date
- Implementing the HR policies, guidelines and manuals in accordance with the country’s applicable legal requirements as well as operational requirements
- Advising the supervisor for foreseeable risks and proposing solutions related to HR
- Monitor and control leave days of employees
- Together with the accounting team, calculate payroll, as well as comply with statutory requirements, including but not limited to INSS and IRPS of the employees
- Issue waring letters and implement other disciplinary measures in line with the requested by the Management or policy, in a legally acceptable manner, and control any outside legal or court cases related to HR
- Be aligned with Group HR policies and strategies and ensure that they are well implemented and complied
- Be responsible for the implementation of compliance and governance
- Control and review contracts and recommend any changes. Ensure that contracts are filed both physically and on respective google drive
- Maintain an updated employee database (CVs, IDs, Academic qualification, contracts, Identification, letters issued etc.)
Legal
- Understand the applicable laws in the country for WASSHA and implementing them within the company where necessary
- Understand and attend any court hearings or cases when called, as well as share timely and adequate reporting to supervisor
- Carry out Administrative and simple ad-hoc legal functions, including but not limited to certification and notarizations of corporate documents as and when need arises
- Obtaining and updating licenses for all WASSHA offices and ensuring that the payments are made before expiration
- Organization & files of contractual documents (original, google drive, dropbox)
HR Admin for Consultants (MRs)
- Controlling Marketing representative contracts (signature, validity, updates and termination) and file accordingly
- Support the Regional Operation Leader in organizing Training Programs
- Set-up adequate induction program for new employees and MRs
- Set-up adequate training program for long term employees
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Law; or
- Bachelor’s degrees in Human Resources
- Experience Length: 3 years as a lawyer ; or
- Experience Length: 5 years as HR, of which 2 years as manager or above
- English Proficiency: Minimum C1 / Professional
