HSE Supervisor

Heading is recruiting for its client, an oil and gas company, a HSE Supervisor, to be based in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Link between site contractors and TEPMA1 site leadership concerning HSE
  • Ensure that company HSE objectives and targets are effectively managed, and desired results are achieved
  • Ensure site-level objectives and targets are in line with company objectives and targets and manage them accordingly
  • Manage programs to assist site to comply with legal requirements
  • Monitor and report on all HSE-related activities and actions according to company and legislative requirements
  • Participate in high actual and potential incident/accident investigations to determine, report, and eliminate root causes
  • Oversee and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Reports and prepare/submit a return on experience (REX) to management
  • Advise on the implementation of HSE related training and development to create awareness and adherence to company requirements
  • Ensure training, toolbox meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the training and HSE program, i.e., emergency response, etc
  • Oversee day-to-day HSE activities in accordance with designated areas of responsibility
  • Ensure contractor HSE documentation are produced and available on site, relevant and in accordance with company requirements and policies
  • Ensure compliance to PPE/PPC requirements
  • Ensure no activity is carried out without proper JSA and work permits where applicable
  • Ensure site housekeeping and environmental sound practices
  • Conduct site environmental inspections
  • Ensure hygiene practices are implemented and complied to
  • Rolls out Company safety culture tools and initiatives
  • Ensure safety observations are conducted and gather data and reports.
  • Write periodic HSE reports and follow up on actions
Requisites
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in construction environment
  • Proven track record in the delivery of safety initiatives
  • Contractor management experience
  • High level of reporting and analytical experience
  • Experience working on major EPC or EPCM projects within infrastructure space is an advantage
