The U.S. Embassy is recruiting an Human Resources Clerk, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- The position is located in the Human Resources (HR) Office at the front desk and as such,
requires the incumbent to be professional to greet and assist all visitors and callers to the office. Incumbent will be the customer service provider for all walk-ins to the HR section as well as answering phone inquiries. Performs or provides assistance with general office support including but not limited to handling paper flow, preparing routine documents, and assuring that information is properly shared between different sub-sections of the HR office. Answers general HR related queries from external visitors and callers, coordinates logistics for official visits and representational events.
Requirements
- Mandatory: Completion of high school is required
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in administrative or clerical field is required.
Evaluations
- English Level - Good Working Knowledge - Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested
- Portuguese Level - Good Working Knowledge-Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested
- All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security
certifications.
Benefits
- Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country
Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique may receive a
compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
- For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
- The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

- HIRING PREFERENCE SELECTION PROCESS: Applicants in the following hiring preference

certification is submitted by the applicant. The certification letter should be on letterhead.
- This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with reemployment rights back to their agency or bureau.
- All candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance.
