Heading is recruiting an Industrial Hygiene Advisor (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Develop and implement workplace Monitoring Program for each of identified Industrial Hygiene Stressors:
  • Based on the Hygiene Monitoring requirements developed, identify and evaluate the appropriate equipment, and arrange for its procurement
  • Ensure the adequacy, availability, certified fitness, and correct use of all equipment used for Hygiene Monitoring, and become familiar with is operating instructions and method of use
  • Maintain, calibrate, keep in certified fit condition, all equipment that is used for Hygiene Monitoring, and ensure that the equipment is always operated, used, and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
  • Compare the called results and their analysis, with the relevant Exposure Limits to derive the conclusion as to whether the employee exposure is within Safe Limits or that it exceeds the Recommended Allowable Exposure
  • Analyze the results of the Hygiene Monitoring Program to determine any area concern and report same to the Site Manager, HSE Manager, Medical Advisor and Health/Safety/Environmental Advisor
  • Maintain and report all Industrial Hygiene data in a clear and credible form, under a document control system, which ensures safe long-term retention and easy retrieval
  • Draw up recommendations for the control of Industrial Hygiene Stressors, which exceed the Exposure Limits, and present them to the Site Manager and HSE Manager
  • Create and update the Risk Register and the specific risk analysis with reference to trend analysis based on time, place and task
  • Develop, update and maintain, on a long-term basis, a comprehensive Dossier, which records (auditable documentation) all activity, carried out under the Industrial Hygiene Program
Requisites
  • Bachelor degree or internationally recognized professional certification meeting the requirement for an Engineer or Health professional
  • At least 5 years of working experience in Oil and Gas Industry
  • Knowledge of Relevant OHSAS 18001 issues in the Oil & Gas operations
  • Certification in OHSAS 18001:2007 Auditor (EU/US level or equivalent)
  • Certification in ISO 9001 leader auditor
  • Has a thorough understanding of HSE management system, matched with a vision of the importance of health component
  • Be capable to communicate effectively within a multicultural setting
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English
