Aldelia is recruiting an Industrial Project Manager (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Manages and coordinates all the actions required to successfully complete the detailed engineering phase, procurement and supply, construction, commissioning and handover to the operator
- Makes sure that the project is executed in compliance with the HSE requirements of the Company, with local regulations and with the needs stated in the SOR (Statement of Requirements), the scope of work and the technical requirements defined in the FEED stage, and with the technical specifications of the M&S branch
- Implements a Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Project Quality Plan (PQP) that serve to meet project requirements
- Defines and organization and sets up and leads a multi-disciplinary project team in the affiliate. Makes sure that personnel have the required level of competency and the appropriate level of training
- Makes sure that there is the necessary support from the Headquarters/zone business lines (HSE, technical, business line, procurement) as per requirements, and from the DTP Project Architect
- Creates, updates and publishes the project performances KPI at least once a month
- Organizes regular Steering Committee meetings and monitors and implements recommendations, technical reviews and audits required at key steps in the project
- Identifies and regularly assesses project risks and takes the actions required to tackle them
- Participates in the evaluation and selection of engineering/construction contractors during the call for tenders (CFT) in liaison with the procurement team and issues recommendations to award contracts with the Tender evaluation team
- Coordinates and manages the construction contractors, engineering contractors and suppliers in charge of achieving the facilities, as per the defined procurement strategy (EPC, EPCm + work batches)
- Makes the necessary purchases (services, works, studies) and signs contracts as per delegation in place
- Manages contracts from award up to the completion date, paying particular attention to change orders, and checks that the work is progressing in compliance with the contractual clauses
- Ensures smooth coordination with the local authorities and that the permits and authorizations (customs) required are obtained in time
Sets up an HSE plan, makes sure that the Group HSE rules are correctly applied by all operators involved and is present on the construction site on a regular basis
- Sets up a quality plan and organizes the necessary inspections, makes sure that the facilities under construction are of good quality and ensures the resolution or any non-conformities
- Makes sure that the terminal operation team receives the training required to use the new facilities
- She/He is responsible for making sure that the project runs smoothly and that the facilities are constructed in compliance with the approved schedule and budget, with the required level of performance, in compliance with the requirements defined and with specific attention to HSEQ aspects
- She/He must be proactive and committed as regards HSEQ aspects
Requisites
- Education: Engineering master degree or equivalent
- Experience: More than 10 years’ confirmed experience as an industrial/technical project manager in different sectors/phases in Oil&Gas/Energy, and particularly in the execution phase (engineering, construction, commissioning)
- Experiences in tank construction is a significant advantage
- Experience in team management and contractor/contract management. Keen interest in technical knowledge and issues
- Familiar with API standards and requirements in terms of project management, organization and HSE procedures
- Good leadership and communication skills, good personal relationship skills, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment
- Anticipates, plans and tackles the subjects/problems identified with an effective and pragmatic approach
- Idiom: Speaks fluent Portuguese and English
