The U.S. Embassy Maputo is recruiting an Informatics/Information Systems Intern (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- The U.S. Embassy Maputo is recruiting for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)- Health Information Systems Team, one Informatics/Information Systems Intern
- The information systems intern will assist with the review of English-language documents related to health information systems development, such as requirements documentation, technical specifications documentation, standard operating procedures, user manuals to ensure they align to CDC standard templates and edit as needed. The information systems intern will assist with the monitoring of project schedules or workplans for systems. The information systems intern will assist with reviewing technology platforms (if this is an area of interest). The information systems intern will also assist with other assorted information systems /informatics activities and duties as time allows
- Work hours: Part-time; 20 hours/week
- Salary: Unpaid Internship
- Length of hire: January 9, 2023 – July 7, 2023 (6 months)
Duties
- Review and comment on EPTS, Dreams Layering Tool and other system documentation
- Meet with HIS implementing partners to understand the activities supporting
- Help with updating HIS team office files (if network access and time allows)
- Prepare slide presentation on one or more information system topic of general interest to CDC staff, if time allows
- Other duties as assigned
Requisites
- Language: English Level 3 – Professional Working Proficiency, required. (Written, Spoken, Listening) and Portuguese (Written, Spoken, Listening) Leve III (This will be tested)
- Computer: Basic knowledge of MS applications, such as Outlook, Word and Excel, MS SharePoint
- Education: 1 year university education complete minimum requirement
- Experience: Experience or an interest in systems development, programming, information technology would be helpful
- Other Skills: Solid organizational and time-management skills, good communication, attention to details, and an ability to work individually and as part of a team
