SDO Moçambique is recruiting an Innovation and Awareness Specialist (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- The Innovation and Awareness Specialist shall work at the UNGP, reporting directly to the Country Project Coordinator, while the Rural Financing Specialist shall be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the overall PFER Rural Financing Services
Duties
- Develop professional practices and procedures for Innovation and Awareness, and document them in the Operations Manual
- Develop criteria for the consideration and approval/rejection of proposals submitted to the Innovation and Awareness, and document them in the Operations Manual
- Actively promote the Innovation and Expansion Facility and its services, among stakeholders in the financial sector
- Provide direct support and/or organize external resources needed to support the financial sector operators in the framework of the preparation of proposals for Innovation and Awareness
- Examine the proposals against the criteria agreed and present them, together with recommendations for the approval or rejection by the Management Committee
- Support the Financial Manager and the contracts management in the design of suitable procedures for contracts management, accounting and internal audit required for the subsidies in partnership and for the line of credit operations
- Design and implement a management information system that will provide management information to PFER manager as necessary for the oversight of the operations and to take the necessary decisions to adjust and redirect the Innovation and Awareness operations, as required
- Follow-up, in close collaboration with the financial sector operators involved, on the progress in the implementation of the projects/activities receiving support
- Report on the operations of the Facility to relevant governmental institutions and donor organizations
- Provide overall support to the monitoring and implementation of aspects related to PFER financial services
- Engage with the Fund Manager to ensure appropriate synergies between the inputs and outputs of financial services
- Draft all agreements to be entered into with the implementing agents with the support from specialized technical assistance, as provided for in the project design report
- Monitor the performance of several institutions or services providers that are involved in the PFER implementation process, namely in the monthly review of financial and progress reports submitted to UNGP
- Monitor the performance of limited liability companies established by the project
- Participate in the provision of business and financial management training to managing bodies and management teams of limited liability companies established by the project
- In collaboration with the ME/KM Specialist and with the financial services providers, develop knowledge management with respect to innovative financial instruments
- Assist SDO´s Client in building the capacity for the provision of financial services to entrepreneurs, based on the project results and the innovative business models
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget and Work and in drafting progress reports;
- Perform all other relevant tasks
Requisites
- Academic Background: At least a high degree in Finance, Management or related fields
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking/microfinance and business approach to agriculture and rural development
- Excellent writing skills, good interpersonal and relationship skills, excellent communication skills
- Oral and written fluency in Portuguese and English; experience in implementing projects funded by international organizations is considered to be an advantage
