DAI SPEED is recruiting an Internship Program Candidates for Finance & Administration (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • The USAID Supporting the Enabling Environment for Development (SPEED) program supports the Government of Mozambique (GRM) to develop and implement policies that improve the country’s business enabling environment, thereby enhancing the role of the private sector in agriculture, trade facilitation, health, energy, and biodiversity conservation. The program also strengthens economic governance and public financial management and enhances the role of civil society in supporting Mozambique’s ability to plan, manage, and finance its own development
Duties
  • Assist in daily treasury operations (Issue checks, prepare transfer letters, and register cash book logs)
  • Assist in reviewing all payment requests and disbursements of funds
  • Collect and compile information for the weekly field wire requests
  • Collect, understand, process, verify and report accounting-related information to his/her vertical head
  • Assist with biweekly-end close process and journal entries
  • Filing, monthly scanning, and labeling of financial documents
  • Fill out and update weekly and monthly reports (Local STTA, vendors, and other payables accounts)
  • If any entry shows a missing record, investigate the reason for the gap, verify that a Missing Record Memo has been placed in the file, and verify that actions are being taken to obtain the missing record. If any documents are missing or incomplete, locate and save them
  • Review if the hardcopy and electronic records are complete, undamaged, and/or legible, filed in the proper place within the proper folder for quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Implementing administrative and finance policies and procedures
  • Distribute solicitations and collect quotes and bids from vendors in adherence with policies & approved requisitions and quarterly procurement plans
  • Track all project procurement activities and delivery status of goods/services
  • Assist local office managers in properly inventorying Office Consumables, Furniture, and IT equipment.
  • Support project travel and events logistics arrangements and advance calculations
  • Manage everyday operations internal and external communications
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requisites
  • BA or BS degree or final year student in Accounting and Audit, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and technical software
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication, personnel management skills, and ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and of different multicultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrate Integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, initiative, and self-motivation in handling all assigned tasks
  • Expertise in numbers and good math skills are very important
  • Self-directed and able to work with little supervision
  • Good collaborative and relationship-building skills
  • Business/commercial awareness
  • Commitment to the profession
  • Competency and self-organization
  • Analytical ability
  • Fluency in English is an advantage
