World Food Programme is recruiting an IT Associate - L8, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Working in coordination with other Country Office (CO) staff and partners, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:
- Assist in rolling out WFP corporate system, SCOPE, across areas of intervention
- Troubleshooting for IT related issues related to electronic voucher transfers
- More specifically, for the SCOPE system: configure SCOPE Registration Hardware and Software, design and set-up IT components of registration sites, train registrars, retailers and partners and supervise data entry, run and troubleshoot data upload; support business and partners in data cleaning; print WFP SCOPE cards; configure, set-up and support SCOPE distribution HW and SW; act as first level of support for sub-offices and deal with second level support
- Keep a database of all IT issues that arise keeping a record of lessons learnt and how they were resolved
- Liaising with WFP Regional Office in Johannesburg to provide immediate support for issues that require escalation to higher levels
- Keeping inventory of all equipment, ensuring all sub-offices have adequate equipment requirements
- Carry out system and hardware maintenance tasks, such as running specialized network monitoring and system protection, to ensure technology is running effectively
- Monitor technology reliability, identify user needs, analyze data and produce accurate reports to recommend IT solutions to support informative decision-making
- Resolve queries independently, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered and accurate information is provided to staff
- Implement improvements to methods and processes within the IT division on SCOPE to support the continuous improvement of services provided
- Work with WFP Regional Bureau and Headquarters to identify existing information management systems and roll them out in Mozambique country Office including circulating guidance notes, training staff on use and providing troubleshooting support
- Provide support to Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Calamidades (INGC) in using Unmapped Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)/drones for risk mapping, supporting early warning and preparedness
- Undertake field missions and duty travel as required
- Perform other related duties as required
Requisites
- Advanced university degree in Computer Science or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/courses
- Typically 3 years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work
- Fluency (level C) in English & Portuguese
