Description
- The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the
position of Lead Maintenance Technician
Duties
- The incumbent reports directly to the Mechanical Engineer Supervisor. The position holder is
employed as a mechanical team lead to a team consisting of an HVAC Controls Technician, a
team of HVAC and Plumbing Technicians and Trades Persons to accomplish skilled
maintenance and repair work at the Journeyman Mechanical level. The work shall be done at the
New Embassy Campus (NEC) on critical and non-critical electrical components within the
functional/office buildings, on-compound ancillary support and residential buildings, above and
below ground infrastructures, recreational facilities, and other owned/leased properties
- The team leader is responsible for assigning work orders to the mechanical team and ensuring
work is completed on time and to the Mission standards. The mechanical team may be assigned
tasks such as supporting the Building Automation System, Chiller Plant, Air Handling Units,
Variable Air Volume (VAV) System, the Potable Water Treatment Plant and Distribution
System, Sanitary Sewage and Storm Water Management Systems, and the Oil Water Separator
Systems. Responsibilities include supervision of the posts maintenance staff that maintains all
mechanical equipment and systems throughout the NEC office, residential and ancillary
buildings, and the grounds
