Legal Manager

ZTE Corporation is recruiting a Legal Manager, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties

• Provide legal advice and support on all legal issues, ranging from statutory compliance, labour relations, etc
• Manage legal processes, litigations and corporate transactions
• Analyse and identify legal and liability risks, implications and mitigation strategies
• Draft, review and administer legal agreements
• Draft, review and administer company documentation as per the Company’s Act and in line with acceptable corporate governance guidelines
• Liaise with company appointed law firms and legal counsel on litigation matters
• Keep management abreast of relevant laws and regulations that may impact on the company
• Keep Human Resources abreast of labour relations and/or basic condition of employment provisions
• Provide legal training support where required
• Review and advise management on legal implications of internal processes and procedures, including Black Economic Empowerment guidelines and requirements for corporates in Mozambique and Angola

Requisites

Qualifications

• LLB degree
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of Mozambique
• Any further commercial qualifications (eg. B Comm., Financial Management, Tax Law, etc.) will be an advantage

Experience

• 4 years related work experience, including 1-3 years post articles work experience with a law firm
• ICT and/or telecommunications industry knowledge and/or experience will be an advantage
