MMEMS is recruiting a Local Facilitator – UPPIR – USAID Provincial Portfolio Implementation Review, to be based in Beira, Mozambique.
Description
- The Mozambique Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism and Services (MMEMS) project provides on-the-ground support on performance monitoring, data verification, impact evaluation, output, and environmental compliance of USAID/Mozambique activities. The MMEMS main office will be based in Maputo; field offices will be based in Quelimane and Nampula
- Mozambique Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism and Services (MMEMS) is supporting and organizing the USAID Provincial Portfolio Implementation Review (UPPIR), an event that convenes a diversity of partners. Also, it is taken as an opportunity to foster synergy creation, promote coordination and collaboration among IPs so to improve development results
- Position Summary: Provide support to MMEMS to prepare and conduct a two-day workshop to be held in the city of Beira. To successfully plan, facilitate and manage the UPPIR in Beira, and achieve the stated objectives. This is a short-term position
Duties
- Identify in Sofala (ideally in Beira) members of the civil society, academics and private sector who can hold a frank conversation with USAID and government officials about some of the issues identified as development challenges for Mozambique
- Provide logistical support to MMEMS in preparing for the UPPIR
- Provide technical support to USAID’s IPs in Beira for their preparation of the posters to be presented
- Visit the site selected to host the site visit and provide recommendations in terms of logistics and organization of the field visit
- Document the process by taking notes and pictures of the event and its process
- Provide support in facilitating group work and other activities that might occur that might demand more than one facilitator
- Relieve the lead facilitator whenever needed
- Report of the round table main points of conversation and recommendations, if any
- Contribute to the writing of the final report of the UPPIR in Beira
- Design the methodology and process to conduct the round table, including note-taking and documentation of the process
Requisites
- At least five (5) years of experience working on facilitating high level strategic thinking processes and policy development
- Experience in facilitating conversation events that engages government and civil society is a great advantage
- Experience in the gender relations and gender integration in development
- Fluency in Portuguese
- Extensive experience in report writing and strong communication skills
- Experience in youth engagement
