Rare is recruiting a Program Implementation Manager, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- Manage and facilitate the production of required project deliverables, providing expert assistance and revision to meet Rare’s standards, control and monitor project scope, time, cost, quality and risk, monitor and provide coordinated feedback on campaign deliverables, project plans, materials in development, and final reports
- Conduct site visits and assist Campaign Managers in overcoming barriers to implementation, including relationship management, technical skill gaps, and time management
- Manage relationships with Pride campaign local partners, ensuring that Rare’s priorities of capacity building, constituency building, and conservation are met and working with the Director in resolving any discrepancies or conflicts
- Manage and communicate activities and progress, towards final outcomes of each program
- Collaborate with the Technical team to ensure Barrier Removal interventions and any other conservation management approaches related to the program are up-to-date
- Participate in the design of customized curriculum applying specialized conservation knowledge to meet specific goals of the program, collaborate on the creation of new tools and participate in classroom activities
- Perform frequent language and cultural translation revisions to ensure materials are appropriate and effective
- Collect, document, and publish lessons learned from the Mozambique Pride program
- Improve and update course materials, Pride curriculum and tools for the Pride program, and promote cross-campaign learning and network building
- Support the Director, Programs and Rare Global Programs in the development of specific documents, criteria, materials, etc. related to Social Marketing as may be required
Requisites
- A minimum of three years of program management experience working in marine/biodiversity conservation, communications, or social marketing sectors. Experience working in fisheries is highly desirable
- Previous experience in successfully applying social marketing and/or behavior change interventions is essential
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from concept to completion
- Proven ability to teach, train, and coach adult learners
- The ability to thrive in team environments with a strong understanding of diversity and sensitivity to other cultures, and built relationships over long distances
- Experienced in using MS Office suite, databases, graphics and learning multimedia software
- Written and spoken fluency in Portuguese and English required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required
- Master’s degree highly preferred
