Manager: Radio Planning and Optimisation

Vodacom is hiring a Manager: Radio Planning and Optimisation, for Maputo.

Duties

• Manage the RP&O team daily activities in the respective region
• Manage RP&O team and external partners to meet or exceed agreed network KPIs
• Ensure on-going team development and training by identifying needs, formal training and knowledge transfer
• Define the network coverage/capacity strategy and ensure its implementation
• Develop and co-ordinate RF designs, Coverage and Optimization solution initiatives through to implementation and completion
• Investigate and implement new technical and/or commercial solutions to improve network performance, customer experience and competitiveness
• Investigate new more effective 2G/3G RF and Optimization Techniques and vendor features
• Evaluate new technologies in the industry and determine the technical and business benefits for the organization
• Manage CS/PS Drive test & benchmarking activities
• Prepare business cases for selected new technologies and initiate technical trials. Ensure network quality, coverage & revenue objectives are met
• Contribute, manage and develop financial budgets and forecasts
• Implement Technical strategies and framework and ensure that all matters related to radio network is timely reported and resolved

Requisites

• Four year degree / Postgraduate in Engineering
• 8-12 Years in the Telecommunication Industry, including at least 2 Years in a Line Management Position; and Project Management
• 5 Years in Radio Network Planning and Optimisation environment
• RF field planning and design solutions
• 3 Years in GSM, Fixed line and Microwave Networks
