PSI/Mozambique is looking for dynamic and highly experienced candidates for the position of Marketing Director
- The ideal candidate, based in Maputo and working under direct supervision of the Country Representative, will be responsible for leading the sales & marketing strategy team, as well as developing and refining PSI’s product and service portfolio, throughout a national network of branch offices. He/She will lead from strategy development to in-market delivery of PSI’s products and services by defining effective marketing and behavior change communication strategies/messages, coordinate with Advertising Agencies to plan and implement marketing campaigns, support the sales team to achieve monthly and annual targets, ensure on-going training, and a passion for marketing throughout the organization.
Duties
- Lead the development of the 3-year marketing strategy and annual activity plan in alignment with the overall PSI strategy, donor commitments, and national market conditions
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies to enhance the sustainability and health impact of PSI’s products and services
- Develop new sales and distribution channels, increasing access, affordability, and impact of operational initiatives
- Define and develop sales strategies and marketing materials to support the sales team in achieving ambitious monthly targets
- Lead the development of the 3-year marketing strategy and annual activity plan in alignment with the overall PSI strategy, donor commitments, and national market conditions
- Establish, develop and manage strategic partnerships with NGOs, public and private sector actors nationwide
- Develop new sales and distribution channels, increasing access, affordability, and impact of operational initiatives
- Innovate and strengthen the marketing activities through customer insights, business logic and ongoing product/service/distribution innovation, while optimizing health impact and portfolio sustainability
- Conduct market research to improve PSI’s current programs and launch new products and services
- Manage and allocate the marketing budget to optimize impact of operations nationwide
- Set product and services prices into account affordability, access, and financial sustainability
- Oversee the sales team incentive program, motivation and systematic training
- Provide continuous feedback to the management team to ensure continuous improvement of PSI programs and suggest ways to optimize operational performance

Requisites
- Five years of relevant experience in sales & marketing leadership/coordination
- Ability to problem solve on the fly and make things happen
- Willingness to work outside normal hours, and travel frequently
- Dynamism, integrity and ability to think/work independently
- Proficiency in oral and written communication in English and Portuguese
- University degree in marketing or other relevant area
- Excellent written/oral communication skills in both Portuguese and English are essential
- Special preference will be given to candidates with proven interpersonal, analytical, organization and negotiation skills
- Experience in building institution, local technical, management and leadership capacity; ability to inspire a shared vision for the marketing and sales staff
- Excellent ability to establish partnerships, supervise, train and motivate people
- Working experience with the Ministry of Health, health care companies, or global health donors
- Ability to identify new donors and partners for programs
- Ability to spot trends and keep the PSI global headquarters informed about health needs and opportunities in Mozambique
- Strong interest in private sector approaches to development and proven ability to produce results
