Description
  • REPSSI (Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative) is a leading African organization in Psychosocial Support whose vision is to ensure that all girls, boys, and youth enjoy mental and psychosocial well- being. REPSSI works in partnership/collaboration with government, development partners, and NGOs in thirteen Eastern and Southern African countries to integrate mental health and psychosocial support into services for children, adolescents, and youth. Since its founding, it has provided for strengthening the skills of communities and families to care, protect, and nurture children and youth
  • As part of the implementation of the UNICEF funded project aimed at strengthening the capacity of social workers, CSOs and communities in priority provinces in MHPSS programming, including the use of MHPSS tools and approaches that are relevant to development and humanitarian contexts, REPSSI intends to recruit for its staff:

Duties
  • Under the guidance and supervision of the National Director, will support in the implementation of REPSSI programs in northern Mozambique with special focus on Cabo Delgado and province level with special focus on:
  • In coordination with the training official, elaborate training plans and support in material development
  • Support and assist in the organization of events and trainings on the promotion of the child's mental and psychosocial well-being
  • Provide support to the monitoring and evaluation officer and other project staff and collaborators in the field activities
  • Represent REPSSI in technical meetings at provincial level, in particular in meetings of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
  • Ensure the psychological assistance to the beneficiaries and their families
  • Represent REPSSI in local meetings or events, at provincial and district level
  • Elaboration of monthly activities report
  • Support in the development of IEC material (brochures, flyers, etc.)
  • Collaborate and secure partnerships with local media for dissemination of our interventions
  • Articulate with entities that reinforce field work such as SPGCAS, DPGCAS, SDMAS
  • Conduct field supervision visits to monitor replicas and other activities
  • Together with colleagues, prepare and submit reports to all government departments that supervise the activities developed by REPSSI in Cabo Delgado
  • Participate and contribute significantly in discussions and comments on documents and other processes shared by the technical group of mental health and psychosocial support
  • Support within their competencies other REPSSI interventions, regarding mental health and PHC, e.g. support the CATs and beneficiaries of the READY project
Requisites
  • Age over 18 years old
  • Mozambican Nationality
  • Graduate and/or post-graduate qualification in social sciences, mainly psychology, sociology, or other related areas
  • At least five years of experience in program management in mental health and psychosocial support and also in social service, and child protection
  • Experience in designing and developing materials (manual, IEC) in the area of MHPSS
  • Experience in partnership management at government and CSO level
  • Proven experience in capacity building and supervision of activities in the field
  • Knowledge and experience of working in an emergency-conflict context
  • Experience in community work in supervising and supporting community agents/volunteers
  • Ability to write reports
  • Good interpersonal relation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Computer proficiency in user's perspective (Microsoft Packages, and e-mail)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Portuguese, English, and local language
