Mine Operations Manager

PRI is recruiting a Mine Operations Manager, to be based in Zambézia, Mozambique.

Duties

• The main task will be to develop the underground mining and increase the quality of extraction of minerals
• Manage and coordinate mine operations
• Manage labor pool & direct all mobile equipment operations to ensure efficient and effective extraction of the mineral and waste rock from the surface mine
• Work within and develop a positive team oriented workforce
• Be able to identify production constraints and take corrective actions to deal with them while working under pressure
• Produce a daily shift log report
• Overlook the security on the site and maintain the machinery as well as the housing belonging to the mine

Requisites

• Relevant qualifications in Mining Engineering or Mining Technician or any other relevant academic qualifications
• The candidate should have proven mining experience (5-10 years) and preferably a basic knowledge about minerals and precious stones is an advantage
• Having a blasting certificate, will be a big advantage, but not required
• Proven experience as site manager
• Experience in Africa, preferably in Mozambique
• Have a continuous improvement behavior
• Result orientated sense of initiative
• Language skills English & Portuguese, mandatory
