Twigg is recruiting a Mine Surveyor (m/f), to be based in Balama, Mozambique.
Duties
- Ensure that survey provides all respective departments with the correct survey information for input into their designs and reports
- Responsible for the integrity of all survey data and ensures integrity of the file structures
- Coordinating set out and pickup of all mine design, special projects and geological requirements
- Ensure that pit surveys are carried out on a regular basis to enable accurate bench and total volumes to be calculated at month end for payment purposes to mining contractors, and for use in mining reconciliation
- Stock pile surveys to be done regularly to enable stock pile volumes to be calculated at month ends, mine to mill stock pile balancing and reconciliation
- Ensure daily survey pickups and preparation of the dig plan for use by operations and technical staff
- Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness that comply with the Twigg Occupational Health & Safety Policy
- Ensure effective communication with delegate prior to departure from site
- Accountable for completion of all tasks identified in the Daily Mining Meetings to the specified quality and timelines as assigned to this role
- Establishment, monitoring and management of primary and secondary survey controls
- Develop and maintain database of mine and site-wide as-built drawing files, such that correct information is available for all users
- Assist in preparation and managing the budget for the section
Requisites
- Tertiary qualifications in Mine, Geomatic, Land, Engineering Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years working in open pit mining and experience utilizing GPS equipment, 3D scanners, total stations, data recorders
- Hands on experience with Surpac software for survey functions, string manipulation, dtm surfaces, solids, volume calculations and designs
- Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects and Visio)
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving ability
- Strong understanding of the development & implementation of Safety Management Systems
- Hold a updated drivers license and be able to drive a light vehicle
- Experience in a greenfields mining environment, and a high degree of cultural awareness
- Fluent Communication (verbal or written) can be an advantage
