DAI is recruiting a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer (m/f), to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Description
  • Background: DAI is an international consulting firm headquartered in the United States with branch offices in Mozambique. DAI is accepting CVs from candidates for a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer for the USAID Office of Transitions Initiatives (OTI)-funded Mozambique program
  • Position: The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer (MEL Officer) will report to Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist (MELS), and will work closely with the program’s Program Development Officers. The MEL Officer position will be based in Pemba, Mozambique. This is a local hire position and applicants must have the legal right to work in Mozambique
Duties
  • The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer will:
  • Recommend practical tools and methodologies to aggregate data from a variety of sources and report out on it Undertake field visits to project sites for project design, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Conduct periodic and systematic data collection and analysis of project results indicators, in conjunction with relevant project staff
  • Assist in the development and writing of activity monitoring and evaluation plans
  • Contribute to reports on progress on results indicators and assist staff in preparation or other program reports as needed
  • Assist with program-level evaluation
  • Travel to remote areas and work independently to monitor activities, if required
  • Assist in translating M&E findings into success stories and other social media products
  • Assist with grants or purchase orders needed for external project evaluators
  • Other Duties assigned by the MELS or Chief of Party that are consistent with the overall focus of the assignment

Requisites
  • University degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Sociology, or related field
  • Minimum three years of professional experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated analytical and assessment skills (including primary research and mixed-methods analysis)
  • Dynamic personality with demonstrated creativity and a willingness to learn
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite) required
  • Experience with grants or small grants under contract programs preferred
  • Experience with USAID or other donor-funded programming strongly desired
  • Networks in Palma and Mocímboa da Praia Districts desirable
  • English proficiency and Portuguese language fluency required; Proficiency in languages of Cabo Delgado (such as Mwani, Makua and Makonde) is desirable
