Heading Moçambique is searching for an Operations Manager for a client working in the field of Oil and Gas, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Operate and maintain the terminal in Maputo to high industrial standards, compliant with the internal standards and to organize its day to day activity
- Implement the company HR policy, ensure the Code Of Conduct and, plan and recruit the operational staff in coordination with the HR manager. Ensure that the operational staff is properly trained and motivated to meet the companies’ objectives and to enhance its competitiveness
- Plan, monitor and report the Operational budget of the Terminal
- Introduce, maintain and update ISO Quality assurance systems for the terminal in conjunction with the Managing Director and the HSSEQ-coordinator
- Collaborate with the HSSEQ-coordinator to introduce, maintain and update the Emergency Response Plan of the Terminal, including the onsite Fire Fighting and Emergency Intervention Team
- Maintain an intensive contact with the Commercial manager to optimize Customers requirements and service
- Foster good relationship with the operational branch of the Port Authorities and the neighbouring plants and play an active role in optimizing the procedures of operations of the common liquid installations of the Port and the emergency response
- Represent the company in local Port committees in coordination with the Managing Director
Requisites
- University degree or a superior engineering education (Mechanic, Electricity, Industrial, Chemical, Petroleum). Proven post scholar certificates of petroleum, chemical, HSSEQ and/or HR related training programs are an asset
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar function
- Good understanding of the terminal business and the key drivers for the technical, operational and HSSE activities of an independent liquid tank storage business
- Experience in an international and multi-cultural background
- Open mindedness and positive attitude with strong communication interpersonal skills
- A responsible and safety conscious team leader and team player
- Familiar with international technical standards (ISO, OSHAS, API, NFPA ASTM, etc) and the national standards related to the tank storage activity
- Well established computer skills, more specifically the Microsoft® and the Lotus Notes® applications
- Proven knowledge of managing and training people is considered positive
- Beside Portuguese, being fluent in English written and spoken is imperative
