Pemba Security Officer (Maritime) (m/f)

Duties

• Ensure security procedures are being followed and complied with
• Daily monitor and oversee Pemba Port TEPMA1 maritime activities regarding security
• Monitor, document, and report security breaches and non-compliance
• Liaise and coordinate activities with Pemba Security Manager and the Maritime Security Supervisor
• Liaise with all elements involved in the maritime security chain
• Promote and create a security awareness culture in the maritime logistic chain
• Maintain inventories of any security equipment under your control
• Document and record any advice and training given
• Provide verbal and written advice as required to maritime assets
• Maintain and promote liaison with relevant government agencies within the remit of the role
• Be the main security focal point at the Pemba port facility for TEPMA1
• Support and assist general security operations in Pemba and TEPMA1 areas activity

Requisites

• A minimum of a basic high school diploma
• Experience working in maritime security, and general security services
• Good understanding and knowledge of general physical security procedures
• In-depth knowledge of maritime operations and maritime security
• Oversee port operations regarding security-related matters
• Capable of producing written reports that are clear, concise, and understandable in English and Portuguese
• Have a good working knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and requirements
• Military service desirable
• Valid driver´s license for both manual and automatic vehicles
• No criminal record
• Computer skills in; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the Microsoft Windows System
• Make timely and calculated decisions under potentially stressful conditions
• Work to timelines and deadlines
• Other maritime qualifications desirable
• Fluent in Portuguese and English
