Twigg Exploration & Mining is recruiting a Process Operator, to be based in Balama and Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
- The purpose of the Process Operator role is to ensure the Process Plant is run in a safe and efficient manner in order to meet the required production targets and to ensure all maintenance issues, hazards and incidents are reported to supervision in a timely manner
- Conduct take 5 and job hazard analysis assessments on work activities as required
- Report all Hazards, Incidents and Near Misses in line with Company policies and procedures
- Ensure own and others fitness for work at all times and report non-compliance as soon as practicable
- Undertake daily work area inspections and report faults/issues to Process Supervisor immediately
- Participate in shift handover activities as required
- Contribute to pre-start and toolbox sessions as required
- Continually monitor the operation of plant and equipment and ensure the safety of yourself and other workers
- Operate water and air sparges/hoses to clear plant/chute blockages
- Operate across crushing, milling & grinding, flotation, filtering, drying, services, re-agents and the control room
- Ensuring production activities are aligned with daily/weekly production plans at all times
- Operate the IT loader, bobcat, fork lift, and power tools in a safe and correct manner
- Enter and work within confined spaces and work safely at heights as required
- Conduct pre-start and post-operational checks on all plant and equipment
- Report all maintenance issues to Process Supervisor as soon as practicable to rectify in a timely manner
- Actively pursue process related training opportunities in line with defined Process Operator competencies
- Create and maintain a high standard of plant, workshop and site housekeeping
- Operate bobcat to remove spillages and rubbish
- Adhere to all company values, policies and procedures and encourage others do the same
Requisites
- Medium Level/Technical Medium Level of Mozambican Education
- Minimum 3 year experience in a mineral processing environment
- Proven exposure to and use of safe systems of work – e.g. risk management, incident reporting
- Bobcat, confined space and working at heights tickets
- Sound Portuguese literacy skills – verbal and written
- English literacy skills highly desirable
- Ability to follow instructions and work according to production schedules
- Basic computer literacy is desirable
- Ability to work in a team environment and share information as required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
