Mozambique

- Under the supervision of the Procurement Specialist, the incumbent serves on a team of Procurement Agents, as a learner, to develop skills in acquisition of goods and services necessary to support all operations of the Embassy of the United States in Mozambique
- Work Hours: Part-time; 20 hours/week
- Salary: Unpaid Internship
- Length Of Hire: February 5, 2024 – August 5, 2024 (6 months)
Duties
- Receives customer Purchase Requests through Ariba, reviews customer requirements and determines procurement method
- Solicits quotations from vendors from within Mozambique, regionally in Africa, or from the United States
- Determines delivery method based on customer requirements and cost efficiency
- Provides advice and guidance to clients on procurement matters (RFQ/RFP, bid evaluation criteria other competitive procurement tools) to ensure client needs are met, the US government obtains best value for money, and procurement processes are perceived by suppliers as fair
Requisites
- Language: English and Portuguese (Written, Spoken, Listening) Level 3. (This will be tested). Computer: Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Education: Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent degree in accounting, finance, Business administration or another related field. Experience: No work experience required. (Learning and Development position)
- Language: English (Written, Spoken, Listening) Level III and Portuguese (Written, Spoken, Listening) Leve III (This will be tested)
- Computer: Basic knowledge of MS applications, such as Outlook, Word and Excel, MS SharePoint
- Education: Minimum of two years of university studies in education, human resources, psychology, social sciences, administration, management, or related field is required
- Experience: Basic knowledge of HR operations (onboarding, data entry and records management) and able to operate a variety of office tools, including computer, photocopier, and printer
- Other Skills: Solid organizational and time-management skills, good communication, attention to details, and an ability to work individually and as part of a team
