The U.S. Embassy is recruiting a Procurement Clerk intern (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- Under the supervision of the Procurement Specialist, the incumbent serves on a team of Procurement Agents, as a learner, to develop skills in acquisition of goods and services necessary to support all operations of the Embassy of the United States in Mozambique
- Work hours: Part-time; 20 hours/week
- Salary: Unpaid Internship
- Length of hire: January 17, 2022 – July 15, 2022 (6 months)
Duties
- Receives customer Purchase Requests through Ariba, reviews customer requirements and determines procurement method
- Solicits quotations from vendors from within Mozambique, regionally in Africa, or from the United States
- Determines delivery method based on customer requirements and cost efficiency
- Provides advice and guidance to clients on procurement matters (RFQ/RFP, bid evaluation criteria other competitive procurement tools) to ensure client needs are met, the US government obtains best value for money, and procurement processes are perceived by suppliers as fair
Requisites
- Language: English and Portuguese (Written, Spoken, Listening) Level 4. (This will be tested)
- Computer: Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Economics, Supply chain management or purchasing, Finance, Accounting, Law or related field
- Experience: No work experience required. (Learning and Development position)
