Ethiopian Airlines is recruiting a Procurement Officer (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Implement purchasing strategies, policies, procedures and action plans commensurate with corporate strategies
  • Ensure availability of operation critical products and services to minimize disruption and keep looking forward and maintain contingency for eventualities
  • Responsible to oversee, coordinate, negotiate and conclude product and service procurement agreements and award bid to the winners.
  • Maintain clear Procurement and Supply Chain vision, goals, objectives, strategies, policies, procedures and action plans
  • Responsible for warehousing and logistics receiving, distribution, delivery, inventory management by fulfilling regulatory body requirements at all times
  • Oversee initial provisioning, market research, consolidation and tender projects to ensure their alignment to company objectives
  • Follow up industry and market trends regarding procurement and supply chain management
  • Responsible to ensure suppliers of aircraft parts and services are paid for based on agreement or purchase order without incurring unnecessary cost or affecting supplier relationship
  • Negotiates service level with users and suppliers and ensures service level is met as negotiated
  • Responsible for procurement, warranty, pool, storing, issue, borrowing & loan, shipping, receiving, AOG service, logistics, distribution, delivery, inventory management by fulfilling regulatory body requirements at all times
  • Oversee contract negotiation related to procurement and ensure services are obtained per the contract agreement
  • Responsible to ensure compliance of policies and procedures in the department specially related to purchasing ethics and standards
  • Ensure procedures regarding compliance of regulatory body related to parts and services standard are in place and are understood by all Mangers, supervisors and those rendering service to the department
  • Reviews vendors’ performance in all respects and ensures business transactions are conducted with those sources/vendors known for cost effectiveness, reliability and integrity
  • Oversee periodic review of inventory holding and justify or reduce inventory holding to optimum level
  • Responsible to induce or initiate purchase consolidation projects including tender and coordinate with users and service providers to keep minimum number of suppliers and optimum stock holding
  • Oversee market research initiatives, supplier evaluation, long term contracts and major analysis initiatives
  • Oversee and promote surplus sales and generate revenue from scrape, surplus, lost& found and other related sales
  • Oversee the administration of warranty and pool service agreements and ensure Mozambique airlines gets the maximum out of both
  • Initiates Plans, policies and procedures on ground transport, cleaning and gardening services
  • Prepares and periodically reviews the check list for the daily performance of the outsourced works in coordination
  • Periodically conducts study and surveys airline requirement of ground transportation services with the objective of improving services
  • Ensures the consistent implementation of the airline safety & security policy and procedures by reporting deviations to safety or security offices as appropriate employees have the education, experience, and the training to perform their work safely; ensure the serviceability of equipment/facilities to prevent safety risks
  • As Mozambique Airlines Brand Ambassador, you are responsible to promote and adhere to the Brand Guidelines
  • Performs other special assignments that may be given from time to time by the supervisor
Requisites
  • Minimum of BA Degree or equivalent in business related field of studies with a Minimum of 3 years and above of experience in airlines and other related areas
  • Fluency in written English is Mandatory
