Twigg Exploration & Mining is recruiting a Product Handling Supervisor, to be based in Balama and Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
- Manage the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly product & logistics planning process
- Work proactively with the Processing Team to ensure compliance to the production plan
- Manage the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly handling & logistics reporting to plan
- Monitor the execution of the plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion
- Monitor production and movement progress and ensure that final product movement meets quality standards and customer specifications as per the production plan
- Analyse delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust the schedule to meet deadlines
- Works proactively with Logistic and Integrated Planning Team to ensure the production plan is in-line with the mine plan and sales and marketing plan
- Organise & manage metallurgical process and procedural audits and test strategies to ensure optimum operating conditions and continuous improvement at all times
- Manage the development of strategies for resolving product handling bottlenecks and inefficiencies
- Lead optimisation projects throughout the Product Handling Facility
- Make improvement recommendations to continually increase the level of handling efficiency of the facility and other associated processes
- Coach and mentor all team members to build capability across our Mozambique workforce
- Ensure own and teams’ behaviour is aligned with Company Values at all times
- Liaise with logistics personnel to ensure appropriate safe operations and professionalism
- Manage direct employees work performance as per the Syrah Resources Work Performance System
- Manage the training and professional development of the Product Handling Team to ensure 100% compliance at all times
- Develop and manage quality assurance policies and procedures
- Develop and implement quality assurance standards and evaluate the adequacy
- Undertake daily work area inspections and report/rectify faults/issues to immediately
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis assessments on work activities as required
- Report all Hazards, Incidents and Near Misses in line with Company policies and procedures
- Continually monitor the warehouse environment to ensure the safety of yourself and other workers
- Develop and implement the workplace traffic management plan
- Ensure that the workplace traffic management plan is implemented effectively and communicated to all levels of worker
- Provide and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all workers
Requisites
- A degree in Business administration or Warehouse Management or equivalent
- More than 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably with a logistics management focus
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks and competing deadlines
- Pro-activeness and proven capacity to think conceptually and make assertive decisions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cohesively with team members
- Sound computer proficiency with intermediate MS Office skills & an advanced Excel and Database skill level
- Significant knowledge of warehouse and stock control systems
- Experience in a fast paced logistical environment highly desired
- Contractor management experience highly desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule as assigned including nights and weekends including flexibility to provide job coverage for co-workers in addition to regular schedule
