Product Handling Technician

Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Product Handling Technician, to be based in Balama - Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.

Duties

• Conduct take 5 and job hazard analysis assessments on work activities as required
• Report all Hazards, Incidents and Near Misses in line with Company policies and procedures
• Ensure own and others fitness for work at all times and report non-compliance as soon as practicable
• Undertake daily work area inspections and report issues to Material Handling Supervisor immediately
• Participate in shift handover activities as required
• Contribute to pre-start and toolbox sessions as required
• Contribute to the development of SWI’s as required
• Review SWI’s on a daily basis prior to undertaking a task and follow accordingly
• Operate forklifts to move bulk bags in line with storage and freight requirements
• Ensure all bulk bags are stored according to the approved inventory system – e.g barcoding system
• Conduct pre-start and post-operational checks on forklifts and all other plant and equipment
• Report all maintenance issues to the Material Handling Supervisor as soon as practicable
• Actively pursue Material Handling training opportunities in line with defined competencies
• Create and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the Material Handling Facility
• Operate bobcat sweeper to remove spillages and rubbish
• Ensure own and others behaviour is aligned to the Company Values and all applicable policies and procedures at all times

Requisites

• Driver’s license – motor vehicle or motorcycle
• Forklift Operation experience/accreditation highly desirable
• Minimum 3 year experience in a mineral processing environment or warehouse environment
• Proven exposure to and use of safe systems of work – e.g. risk management, incident reporting
• Sound Portuguese skills - written and verbal
• English literacy skills highly desirable
• Ability to follow instructions and work according to production schedules
• Basic computer literacy is desirable
• Ability to work in a team environment and share information as required
