Linkup, a leading recruitment agency in Mozambique, is recruiting for a Product Manager - Liabilities position for a financial institution, Barclays Bank, based in Maputo.
Duties
- Implement new products and product enhancements
- Provide information on competitor information, local pricing and local market potential
Business Direction: 30%
- Provide feedback on local competitor product activity
- Undertake local market research to provide management information to Barclays Africa
- Undertake legal and regulatory assessment as required
- Feedback suggestions for new products and product enhancements to Barclays Africa
- Provide data for Local and Barclays Africa management information
Business Management: 70%
- Implement new product into market by engaging all stakeholders, creating a steering committee, building a business case, complete all product testing, build detailed local implementation plan and closely monitor local implementation
- Complete competitor research
- Apply pricing strategy to local pricing models and manage the publishing of pricing guides
- Give necessary notices to local government/regulator s and public of product changes
- Liaise with Local Operations Centres, regularly reviewing all operational standards for product profitability, and identifying skills gaps
- Review and feedback into customer satisfaction surveys, responding to customer complaints
- Liaise with People Development and Sales Management functions to design and deliver appropriate training, and give input into sales strategies
- Execute direct mailing and other product promotion activities as directed by the business
- Manage Retail income lines and ensure all fees are collected
Requisites
- A comprehensive knowledge of Barclays Africa products and systems that support them, and a good understanding of Barclays Group products
- A detailed understanding of product offerings in the wider financial services industry
- A detailed knowledge of Barclays Africa strategy and policies
- Detailed knowledge of consumer buying behaviour, marketing techniques and evolving trends
- An understanding of customer segmentation theory and practice
- A detailed understanding of industry, advisory, regulatory and professional bodies
- A good understanding of legislation related to financial services and channel delivery
- A good knowledge of constructing reports, executive summaries and briefs
- Able to deal professionally, confidently and effectively with staff at all levels, internally and externally
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to keep abreast of industry changes in both the business and marketing environments
