Oxfam is recruiting a Programme Officer Extractive Industries (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. For our Country Office in Maputo we are looking for a: Programme Officer Extractive Industries
  • Location: Maputo, with some travel
  • Contract Duration: 13 months
Duties
  • Contribute to the improvement of the sustainable management of mineral resources in the context of extractive industry projects in Mozambique
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of program implementation taking into account the objectives and requirements of AGIR Program
  • Monitor and assess the organizational capacity of partners to implement actions in the face of impacts, especially on women's lives, as well as opportunities generated by extractive industry projects
  • Coordinate training and training activities in order to achieve the objectives established in the AGIR Program
  • Develop, together with partners, project proposals in this specific area
  • Provide technical support to partners to implement related activities
  • Represent Oxfam in national and international working groups and forums
  • Support the strengthening of networks (national, regional and international) in the area of extractive industry
Requisites
  • We are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
  • Higher level, preferably Master in Development Economics, International Law or Degree in at least one of the following areas: Law, Economics, Social Sciences
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project management (results-based management and monitoring and evaluation, and project financial management
  • Strong interest in environmental, social and economic issues related to the extractive industry in the Mozambican context
  • Experience working with the Government, multi and bilateral development partners, and civil society organizations
  • Proven experience in the preparation of working documents (plans, reports and others)
  • Knowledge of national and international legislation in the extractive industry
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written)
