The U.S. Mission/Mozambique is recruiting for a Project Management Specialist (Nutrition) within the Integrated Health Office, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- The incumbent will provide strategic programming and technical guidance for all nutrition-related activities with responsibility for managing significant programs, ensuring all USG nutrition activities are responsive to PEPFAR, FTF, and GoRM policies, guidance, and principles
- Strengthening USG programming in nutritional care for vulnerable populations, such as People Living with HIV (particularly pregnant and lactating women), and orphans and vulnerable children (particularly children under five)
Requisites
- Completion of a University Degree, or the host-country equivalent, in nutrition, nursing, or other appropriate related field
- A minimum of three to five years of relevant progressively responsible professional experience in program design and management with a focus on nutrition is required. The majority of this experience should have included the design, implementation, and management of nutrition programs
- Excellent English and Portuguese communication skills, both oral and written
- In-depth professional-level knowledge of development principles, concepts, and practices, especially as they relate to managing health and nutrition activities in Mozambique, and the problems and policies in Mozambique from the business, political, civil society, and social perspectives
- Knowledge and understanding of the economic, political, social, and cultural characteristics of Mozambique; development problems in the nutrition sector in Mozambique and the region; an understanding of the resources, resource constraints, and overall development prospects and priorities of Mozambique and the region; and, knowledge of, or the potential to quickly acquire knowledge of, USG legislation, policy, and practice relating to nutrition assistance, of USAID programming policies, regulations, procedures, and documentation, and of the objectives, methodology, and status of assigned activities
