Project Manager (m/f)

PSI is recruiting a Project Manager (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Lead the project team and coordinate with the field implementation team, assuming full responsibility for the project’s overall success and outcome
  • Develop a suitable dashboard with project data that is analyzed on a monthly basis
  • Lead the development of quarterly donor reports with guidance and supervision from the Director of Program
  • Measures project progress against the agreed log frame
  • Develop feasible workplans for validation, tracking agreed timelines for tasks assigned to different team members
  • Monitors project costs and provides explanations and justifications on the expenditure incurred
  • Identifies problems in the implementation, anticipates risks and seeks guidance on how to mitigate and overcome problems
  • Can assess through field visits if activities are being followed and can provide capacity building to field teams to improve quality implementation and supervision
  • Manages and oversees compliance with the project’s Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plan
  • Maintain an organized system for key project documents and reports
  • Assist with project communication activities, including the development of blog posts and documentation of best practices/stories
  • Supervise staff time records for staff working within the project
  • Facilitate field visits from consultants, project consortium members and donors
Requisites
  • Master qualification in relevant field (Public Health or Social Sciences)
  • Undergraduate academic degree in a science-related discipline
  • At least 7 years of work experience, of which 5 as a project manager of donor-funded projects
  • Previous experience in managing USAID projects would be an advantage
  • Relevant experience in staff, office and asset management
  • Good communication skills verbal and in writing
  • Demonstrated experience in project and administrative support activities
  • Work experience with NGOs on SRH/FP projects is preferred
  • Knowledge in administrative procedures of the government and NGOs
  • Well organized, strong attention to detail, and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Good computer skills in common word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel)
  • Familiar with MIS systems and processes (especially DHIS2)
  • Excellent English and Portuguese language skills (interviews will be conducted in English)
