GAIN is recruiting a Project Manager, Urban Governance for Nutrition (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a project manager with excellent knowledge of Mozambique Government structures to deliver their Urban Governance for Nutrition initiative in Mozambique. This role will be based out of our office in Maputo
Duties
- Reporting to the Country Director, the Project Manager, Urban Governance for Nutrition will be responsible for the management of activities under the Rebuilding Food Systems project which is improving the resilience of food systems in Mozambique from the impact of cyclones, as well as developing fundraising proposals for new projects and designing new projects. Role specifics include:
- Responsible for the overall Urban Governance for Nutrition project management and implementation in Mozambique and timely delivery against the project plan
- Lead project design, adaptation, implementation, and monitoring in line with programme strategic plans
- Support fundraising for new projects
- Foster strong collaboration with project partners responsible for implementing and technical assistance and undertake regular supervision to ensure the smooth running of the project with clear project deliverables and reporting system
- Ensure that project progress is on track and to design and implement risk mitigation plans if required
- Responsible for the timely submission of high-quality reports, technical and financial documentation, success stories and other documents as per organizational procedure, government, and donor requirements
- Work collaboratively with other projects and project supervision and implementation team members to ensure necessary program planning, budgeting, resource availability and that management activities function smoothly and efficiently
Requisites
- You will need to have an excellent understanding of governance along with an ability to navigate different levels of public administrations in Mozambique
- You must have experience of implementing and delivering projects, preferably with multiple consortium partners, and be able to manage and respond to donor requirements
- Experience of working in public health and or nutrition is highly desirable. For the full person specification, please see the attached job description
