Chemonics is recruiting a Provincial Logistics Advisor (m/f), to be based in Matola, Mozambique.
Description
- Project: Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Mozambique
- Background: The overall goal of GHSC-PSM is to procure and provide health commodities for all USAID health programs, including but not limited to, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Family Planning, and Maternal & Child Health, as well as provide systems strengthening technical assistance to improve supply chain management and commodity security in Mozambique
- The Provincial Logistics Advisor will provide logistical support to CMAM at the provincial and district levels, including assisting with the improvement of storage conditions and ensuring tracking systems are updated
- Supervision: The Provincial Logistics Advisor will report directly to the Provincial Support Manager
- Working Conditions/Duration of Assignment
- This is a long-term position for the life of the contract based in Matola City, Mozambique.
Duties
- Ensure that the Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) is implemented at that provincial level in the assigned province
- Ensure that the Information System of Medicines and Medical Supplies (SIMAM) is updated at the provincial level
- Ensure that the sheet stock and duly completed since the health facilities to the district and provincial deposits; requisitions‐balance sheet of the provinces are met in a comprehensive manner, complete and are submitted in time to CMAM; and that the Procedures Manuals (SOPs) of the 3rd edition are duly followed at all levels of the distribution chain
- Provide technical assistance and support to improve the storage conditions at different levels, logistical support for supervision both at the provincial and district levels; logistical support for all logistics training activities
- Support the implementation of PEPFAR partners and PHDs to identify transportation problems between the different levels of the distribution chain and propose solutions; stocktaking exercise of key products on a quarterly basis at the provincial deposit
- Ensure that quarterly meetings planning and evaluation take place at the provincial level with the participation of the districts
- Coordinate with the DPS for implementing technical assistance activities in support of the strengthening of coordination between the provincial deposits MOH drugs and district deposits
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Provincial Support Manager
- Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all office rules and procedures as set forth in the field office policy manual
- Support achievement of the overall project goals as required to ensure project performance
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Experience working on a USAID or donor-funded project required
- Fluency in Portuguese and advanced English is required
