Description

REPSSI works in partnership/collaboration with government, development partners and NGOs in thirteen countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. Since it was founded, REPSSI has been working to strengthen the skills of communities and families to care for, protect and nurture children and young people
- As part of the initiative - called "Finland with a focus on sexual and reproductive health", which aims to (Increase the capacity to support survivors of violence - provision of adequate, coordinated, multi-sectoral services, ensure mental health and psychosocial support services (MHPSS) for adolescent girl mentors who have participated in the safe spaces mentoring program) in Nampula - REPSSI is looking to recruit for its staff: a Psychologist

Duties
- Under the guidance and supervision of the Project Co-Ordinator, assisted by the Psychologist
Niassa, will support the implementation of REPSSI's programs at provincial level, with a particular focus on province with a special focus on:
- Map safe spaces for mentors in your district
- Track mentors in mental health and psychosocial support to identify and refer cases
- Organize psycho-education sessions for mentors during sessions in safe spaces
- Carry out group and individual therapy sessions for adolescents and young people who have suffered trauma, abuse or other adverse experiences using the tools produced by REPSSI
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and psychosocial support to adolescents and young people in vulnerable situations, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in high-pressure environments
- Provide trauma-informed practices and approaches to mental health care and MHPSS guidelines
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, educators, health professionals and community leaders, to ensure comprehensive support for adolescents and young people and their families
- Participate in technical coordination meetings with the government, discuss activities and share reports
- Draw up work training plans and assist in the development of material
- Provide technical support and supervision to APSS and mental health safe space mentors' activities
- Participate in technical meetings at district and provincial level, especially mental health cluster meetings
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports
- Assist in collating and submitting project information/activities to produce success stories and share with project coordinator
- Liaise with the media to publicize our interventions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requisites
- Age 18 or older
- Mozambican citizen
- Graduates: Graduates in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or other related fields
- At least 2 years' experience working as a psychologist, preferably with adolescents and young people in a development or humanitarian context
- Skills in conducting psychological assessments, developing individualized care plans and monitoring progress over time
- Experience in community work, supervising and supporting community workers/volunteers
- Good interpersonal skills
- A team player
- Computer skills (Microsoft packages and email)
- Ability to write reports and minutes of meetings
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Portuguese, English and local language
