Description
- The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Health Specialist (Community Clinical Linkages and Retention Advisor)
- The incumbent will be based in Maputo but will travel to 7 of Mozambique’s 11 Provinces periodically
Duties
- Working under the general direction and supervision of the Associate Deputy for Management the incumbent will be responsible for forging, maintaining and monitoring linkages and retention between clinical CDC treatment partners and organizations working in the community in order to involve the community in the long-term care and management of HIV-infected individuals
- Through their collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MISAU) and Ministry of Women and Social Action (MMAS), these treatment partners are supporting almost 50% of all the people on anti-retroviral treatment (ART) in Mozambique
- The incumbent will work closely with MISAU, MMAS, and other donors involved in community-based work to expand the linkages between clinical HIV services and the resources available in the community
