Quality Control Freelance Researchers

Intermedia is recruiting a Quality Control Freelance Researchers, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• During this term the contractor will provide quality control services as stated below
• Attend central training for the interviewers, supervisors and quality control persons
• To ensure that the supervisors and the QCs are doing their work well, that is checking questionnaires and accompanying the interviewers in the field and to report the ratio of supervisors and interviewers for every team
• To communicate to IM team on the on goings of field work at least twice a day
• To accompany the interviewers to the field to ensure that the interviewers are in the right EA and that the right sampling method is followed in selecting starting point, Household and respondent
• To observe the interviews to ensure that the questionnaire is administered well and if there are any errors they should be corrected immediately after the interview unless the interviewer is making major mistakes
• Attend the team meetings and to share the field observation experience with the team members and to retrain interviewers if there are specific sections that most interviewers did not understand well during training
• Back checks through physically visiting the interviewee and through telephonic back checks to confirm that responses recorded on the questionnaire are correct, if not the interview should be redone
• Check all the questionnaire and the field logs before leaving the EA, to check its completeness, to identify any errors and to make corrections with the respondent
• Do spot checks while in the field to identify if there is any interviewer cheating, if one is found their contacts should be terminated and their interviews be re-done
• To ensure that all GPS coordinates collected from the households where the interview has been done and completed and the same coordinates recorded on the interviewer logs and on the questionnaires
• The consultants should scan and send in all the field logs they filled in as they were carrying out their duties, this includes Observation logs, call back logs, Back check logs, field logs, Procedural QC logs
• Each team/individual should send in updates at least twice daily
• The team should summarize and send in one document on the QC experience in the field while highlighting the following
• Things that went well (the strengths)
• The challenges faced and the remedies
• Lessons learned/recommendations

Requisites

• Mozambican national or resident
• Ability to effectively communicate in English and Portuguese
• Quantitative field research experience (atleast as a survey interviewer or supervisor)
• Preferably with University Degree
• People and teamwork skills
