Resettlement Specialist (m/f)

Duties

• Conduct encroachment objects review and confirmation and design a detailed resettlement plan
• Draft legal instruments (contracts, MOUs, agreements, etc) that define the obligations and deliverables of each entity involved in the resettlement process
• Conduct resettlement interviews, analyze claims, and apply applicable national and international regulations and principles for resettlement processing
• Conducting fieldwork such as public consultations, collection of additional data on affected people if required, coordinate with local level government officials and others
• Preparing and updating due diligence reports and land acquisition and compensation plans as required for the resettlement plan
• Ensuring that resettlement grievances redress mechanisms are established and functional
• Design or implementation of quantitative and qualitative project performance monitoring systems
• Calculate and update the resettlement budget and monitors related spend, ensuring project compliance with requirements set forth by the company
• Facilitate progress of negotiations, documents, payment, and other activities necessary for resettlement, land acquisition and households relocation
• Conducts site visits, stakeholder consultations, and attends meetings with any relevant agency, institution, or party or attend to any matter, as may be required by the project

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting or equivalent disciplines
• 5 to 7 years’ experience or more in the preparation and execution of Resettlement programs for road and infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese
