Safety, Health & Environment Manager (m/f)

Duties

• Conduct risk assessment and risk mitigation measures on site and prior to the start of projects
• Take preventive and corrective measures to ensure a suitable and healthy environment for the organization and its stakeholders
• Investigate, analyze, and review accidents or near misses within the organization
• Design and conduct drills, both announced and unannounced
• Ensure that all employees are properly informed about the organization’s environmental and safety policies
• Prepare monthly reports for the General Manager, OPCO/MC, and make presentations regularly as and when necessary
• Support the General Manager and Management team in the issue of HSE Policy and Guidelines
• Support the Management team in the standards of the HSE Management System
• Assist all CTRG departments in their negotiations with Clients in all matters related to Occupational Health and Safety
• Conduct any internal security training as and when necessary
• Perform HSE-related risk assessments
• Ensure that Safety, Health and Environmental related licenses are regularly updated in advance (and do not expire)
• Ensure adherence to all lender and IFC requirements in terms of HST
• Ensure monthly safety meetings and quarterly management review meetings are held according to schedule
• Ensure the development and implementation of emergency response programs and any other business activities provided from time to time by the General Manager

Requisites

• Bachelor of Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health or alternatively Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire and Safety Management Systems
• Profound knowledge of Mozambican legislation and international legislation on health and safety at work
• Mozambican, who speaks, reads, and writes English fluently
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
• A minimum of 8 years of proven management experience in the relevant field is a must
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change quickly
• Excellent reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills
