The school registrar is the first point of contact with prospective parents and students.
Responsibilities
- Process applications for admissions: ensure compliance with admission policies and procedures (assist parents with the completion of forms, review and verify forms for completeness and accuracy)
- Orient new students and families
- Coordinate student data management system (maintain accurate student records, register and withdraw students)
- Compile statistical data and information and summarize data in reports or analyses
- Respect confidentiality of student and parent information
- Maintain close working relationships with the director, school principals and school counselors
- Work collaboratively with the PTA committee for Families in Transition to ensure that newly arrived families have been identified and any concerns are addressed in a timely manner
- Arrange for and coordinate schedules, appointments, projects, conferences, and major events
- Advise, screen, and refer callers and visitors
- Handle a variety of routine technical and administrative assignment as needed
Requisites
- General knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and secretarial techniques
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to meet the public effectively
- Sound decision-making, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with good follow-through
- Technology-related skills and experience in use of various software programs
