Senior Technical Advisor (m/f)

Duties

• Responsible for leading the commercial technical team in delivering technical support to small, & large scale grower customers and potential customers, for planning classroom training for growers, for the training of all commercial staff on technical knowledge, and for hands-on management of the formal grower customer class
• Responsible for leading the commercial technical team in delivering technical support to small, and large scale growers as per SOPs
• Visits growers based on chick sales and completes the Technical Visit Report upon every visit
• Visits potential customers to ensure all requirements are met as per Housing Manual & Broiler Production Manual
• Supplies technical support to the Chick Distribution team as requested to ensure compliance with the Distributor Manual and set standards
• Provides immediate feedback and technical support to growers when they report flock challenges
• Attends various training, agricultural shows and conferences to stay up-to-date with current and trending technical knowledge
• Prepares reports as per Report Matrix
• Responsible for growing the formal grower customer class
• Achieve the monthly targets on: volume/revenue/margin/costs/customer debtors list/new customers/customer retention /complaints
• Identify insights for IM business to grow formal grower customer class
• Responsible for broiler management, biosecurity & product knowledge training Assists in creating training material
• Organizes the small, and large scale growers training schedule yearly/quarterly
• Sets up & conducts growers training as per schedule
• Assists in handling and resolving customers and distributors complaints
• Responsible for managing the Technical Support Team
• Ensures that all HR related issues including attendance, leave, overtime & disciplinary issues are handled in cooperation with the Commercial Manager
• In consultation with the Commercial Manager conducts performance appraisal with staff on a continuous basis
• Responsible for motivating & enforcing team compliance with all relevant company SOPs & policies, statutory regulations and expected company behaviors at all time
• Communicates & monitors implementation of local legislation and all statutory requirements

Requisites

• Diploma or Degree in Animal Science or BVSc/Veterinary science/Animal husbandry)
• + 5 years of experience in in the poultry industry
• Good oral and verbal communication, strong/positive interpersonal skills, good time management skills, good planning skills, good problem-solving skills, ability to adapt essential information to non-technical and academic audience
• English and Portuguese required
