Senior Technical Officer, ART

FHI360 is recruiting a Senior Technical Officer, ART, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties
  • Ensure provision of integrated and quality HIV / AIDS services quality in all CHASS supported sites
  • Develop technical guidance documents and ensure dissemination to the Provincial teams clinics in order to enable them to provide technical assistance to DPS, SDSMAS, USS and CBOs to achieve objectives of CHASS
  • Ensure the technical leadership and programmatic guidance on the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the results of the interventions adopted in the project
  • Develop effective strategies for technical assistance, training and mentoring of health facility staff by CHASS technical staff
  • Develop normative documents interacting with ART services and Male Circumcision (CMMV) for matching interventions wherever and whenever possible, in order to ensure the provision of care to the \\\"cell\\\" family
  • Propose and develop more effective strategies to ensure results related to progress indicators
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of project performance in the ART area and prepare respective reports
  • In coordination with the Community and Linkages Unit, define strategies to ensure effective linkages and complementarity between ART activities implemented in health facilities and communities
  • To support the Ministry of Health to develop capacity in planning and supporting ART activities in supported provinces
  • Update project ART strategies and guidelines in accordance with the directives from the MOH and ensure dissemination to all supported ART sites
  • Participate in the National ART meetings convened by USAID, Ministry of Health and / or other USAID implementing partners
  • Develop innovative strategies for achieving the desired/expected results
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director
Requisites
  • Degree in Medicine and Public Health
  • At least 5 years’ experience in designing and implementing HIV/AIDS treatment programs
  • Experience working with Ministry of Health and other partners
  • Knowledge of the PEPFAR program requirements will be an added advantage
  • Previous work experience with NGOs
  • Ability to set priorities and work under pressure to achieve results
  • Ability to write and present project reports
  • Willingness to travel regularly to districts
  • Knowledge of computer systems and programs (Word, Excel, PP)
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
