Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Statutory Electrical Supervisor, to be based in Balama, Mozambique.
Duties
- Providing electrical technical advice and support to the Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Plant Operations and Infrastructure teams, so that all assets are maintained to a standard that ensures safe and cost effective operation and continuing process capability
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the site electrical standards
- Auditing electrical maintenance activities to ensure that they are carried out to plan, thoroughly, safely and cost effectively
- Reporting to the Maintenance, Process Plant and Infrastructure Superintendents on an ongoing basis regarding the electrical status of plant and equipment
- Assisting the engineers with carrying out equipment electrical performance analysis, and recommend actions for improvement
- Monitor and review the health of Communications, High Voltage, PLC and other electrical systems on site
- Working with the planning team to optimise electrical PMs on all assets and provide accurate information to update the maintenance information system
- Review and recommend electrical inventory and critical electrical spares
- Coaching and mentoring electrical team members, identifying opportunities for additional training to improve their skills and knowledge, as well as succession planning suitable candidates for Statutory Nominee roles
- Ensuring that electrical maintenance work is carried out in accordance with statutory requirements
- Liaising with Mines Department inspectors when required
- Ensuring that all electrical incidents are thoroughly investigated and remedial actions are carried out in a timely manner
- Assisting in the continual development and implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment management systems
- Driving a safe and incident free workplace by ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory legislation
Requisites
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical trade qualification (essential)
- High Voltage Electrical Switching Operator certification (essential), and experience in the operation and maintenance of Power Stations and HV Networks
- Current ‘A Grade’ Electrical Licence (essential)
- Significant experience in Maintenance leadership roles within the extractive industries
- Proven ability to develop and lead teams, work autonomously and be a subject matter expert who can operate in a cross functional capacity
- Frontline Management & Workplace Training & Assessment qualifications
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Pronto
- High degree of cultural awareness
