Terminal Operations Manager

Capital Outsourcing is recruiting a Terminal Operations Manager, to be based in Beira, Mozambique.

Duties

• Lead the operations team
• Optimize operation of unloading, stacking and loading activities to avoid any delays
• Work in close cooperation with the technical manager and users in order to coordinate maintenance activities in the plant
• Ensure full compliance with PPE and safety policies and procedures established in the terminal by the team
• Investigate any accidents & incidents and implement actions to prevent re-occurrence
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping standards across the terminal
• Monitor dust and noise levels continuously as well as use conservation and recycling of water within the terminal
• Collect and analyse required KPI’s for performance of operations and prepare regular reports as per agreed procedures
• Manage operation of Commtrac terminal operation system
• Actively identify equipment or process changes to improve environmental performance
• Prepare daily performance reports for internal purposes and circulate them as required
• Review monthly financial statements and data
• Prepare and control operational budgets

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other related technical or operations management qualifications preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the field
• Fluent in both Portuguese and English
• Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
• Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of Human Resources practices
• Knowledge of HSE
• Knowledge of computers and related hardware/software, knowledge of computer networks and programmable logic controller is a plus
• Good communication skills
• Ability to negotiate and make decisions
