Warehouse Manager

Duties

• Manage the terminal activities to ensure a cost effective, efficient and reliable service is delivered
• People Management:
• Resourcing of the operation with management of a combination of flexible and non-flexible staff
• Supervision of staff
• Develop and motivate staff
• Monitor and coordinate activities and performance of staff
• Training and development
• Critical Outcomes:
• Optimally resourced and efficient operation
• Asset Management:
• Ensures safe keeping, maintenance and optimisation of all assets
• Enforce terminal specific SLA in consultation with Procurement
• Complies with national standards
• Critical Outcomes:
• Effective cost control
• Optimal asset utilisation
• Assets to remain presentable to enhance corporate image
• Process Management:
• Ensure that processes are monitored, performance tracked and resources optimally utilised, recommending plan when necessary
• Overall responsibility to ensure effective process management in the following areas:
• Equipment and maintenance
• Cargo handling
• Gate and yard
• Health and safety
• Critical Outcomes:
• Deliver an efficient and cost effective service
• Customer satisfaction
• Compliance:
• Coordination and management of activities that ensure relevant compliance in the following areas:
• Occupational compliance
• ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 22000
• Internal financial controls
• Critical Outcomes:
• A fully compliant operation that meets Group, Regulatory and Legal requirements
• Administration:
• Approve and implement corrective action where necessary in relation to the following reports:
• Stock adjustments
• Stock reversals
• Backdating
• Stock pile variances
• Tracking
• Bookings
• Approve purchase orders in line with Limits of Authority
• Provide input into the budget process
• Conduct and plan self-audits
• Sub-contractor
• Critical Outcomes:
• All administrative functions efficiently handled and adequately completed on time
• Health, Safety and Environment:
• Stock adjustments
• Take ownership of ensuring that the HSE policy, procedures and practices are adhered to and creates a positive, healthy and safe work culture
• Conducts ongoing risk analysis, recognise potential failures in collaboration with HSE Officer and TM with a view to adeptly shift orientations to deal with them

• Planning, assessment of work load, prioritisation
• Allocate resources and issue instructions
• Internal and external interaction with relevant stakeholders

Requisites

• Degree or equivalent (preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain)
• Fluent in English and Portuguese
• Solid Knowledge of Warehouse
• Dynamic
• Proactive
• Capacity of Analyse
• 5 years or more experience in relevant Industry and senior Management
