In the last years ApA has been providing safe WASH services to social institutions, improving sanitation in communities, and running the local soap production business YAKOKO.
• ApA is part of the non-profit organisation WASSER FÜR WASSER (WfW), German for „water for water - agua por agua“, that was founded in 2012 in Switzerland. The establishment of the local organisation ApA in Mozambique was a pivotal milestone in the organisation‘s journey, underlining the strategic expansion of WfW into Mozambique and a significant step toward realising the vision of interdependent WfW organisations spanning two continents. Still in a start-up phase as a local institution, we‘re looking for a dynamic individual to help us expand our impact and drive positive change in Mozambique.

Duties

• Responsible for the implementation of WASH components in all our activities
• Construction planning, material procurement, and supervision for maintenance and repair works of WASH infrastructure in social institutions
• Construction and stakeholder coordination of major WASH infrastructure developments
• Roll out of innovative and sustainable operation and maintenance approaches for WASH in social institutions
• Development of teams for maintenance works for WASH in social institutions in collaboration with vocational training institutions
• Monitoring and evaluation of activities, including regular reporting
• Provide WASH expertise wherever required across the organisation‘s initiatives

Your skills

• Strong technical knowledge of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion experience
• Excellent project management skills, including budget monitoring and reporting
• Proficient in developing technical documents, including designs and Bills of Quantities (BoQs)
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including schools and social institutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address infrastructure-related issues
• Commitment to best practices in sustainable WASH infrastructure management and maintenance
• Very strong English and Portuguese written and oral
• Mozambique national or work permit in Mozambique
• Background in Architecture or Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
