Millar Cameron is recruiting a Head of Programmes (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
- The Head of Programmes will be a member of the Senior Management team for WaterAid Mozambique. The key purpose is to provide WASH technical and managerial leadership over the country programmes, ensuring WASH programmes are of high quality and meet national and sector best practice
Duties
- Providing technical and managerial leadership of in country programmes
- Ensuring high quality of WASH programmes, to meet national and WaterAid standards
- Setting and achieving delivery of all programmes in country
- Acting as the lead WASH technical adviser to in country operations
- Providing technical support to both internal and external teams
- Supporting the development and promotion of WASH best practice in country
- Contributing to the development of the strategic plan for the country programmes
- Designing and leading the development of programmes
- Ensuring effective design and implementation of programmes
- Identifying gaps and strategic opportunities in Mozambique
- Building key partnerships to ensure successful implementation of programmes
- Supporting the development of WASH programmes and grant proposals
- Coordinating the development and overall monitoring and evaluation framework
- Handling financial management and budget control of programmes
- Playing a technical role in the wider influence of WASH practice and policy beyond WaterAid
- Identifying learnings from other countries to adapt and replicate in Mozambique
Requisites
- Degree or post-graduate qualification, preferably in a WASH related discipline
- 7 years’ development and management experience in the WASH sector
- Detailed understanding of WASH technical and management issues
- Demonstrated long-term capacity building and programmatic integration
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation approaches
- Fluency in English and preferably in Portuguese
- Experience working in Mozambique or other African countries
